Tahoe-Donner Getaway!
Thanks to my good friend, Sandy Wilson of Wilson Vineyards, we were able to do a quickie getaway for a couple of days up to Lake Tahoe! We stayed at the beautiful "Wilson Summer Cabin" up at Tahoe Donner, then went down to Edgelake Beach club on the North Shore during the day to enjoy the pool, hot tub and lake.

Getting ready to fish for Crawdads!
They just love posing for pics...(and no, it's not any easier getting pics of the kids when you are a photographer!)
Driving back to Truckee the first day.
The second day, Friday was sunnier at the Lake, but really smoky again once we went back over the hill to Truckee.
Crawdad Fishing!
Lake Tahoe Crawdad!
As you can see, it was so smoky driving home on Friday. There are about 1100 fires burning in CA right now...

Christian's Open House!
Here is a quick peek at the last open house at Christian's school, Citrus Heights Elementary. His teacher, Ms. Liby, has her room decorated with animals and a jungle theme. She even had jungle/animal sounds coming from a speaker in the room!
Here is a measuring string from a time capsule the students did at the beginning of the year. This shows how much Christian has grown since September!
Citrus Heights is one of the few schools in the district that still has a music program. We even have a school band and get violins donated from the Sacramento Sympphony league. We have the Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra's 1st Violin Dan Flanagan, Acting Concertmaster working with the kids and Gayle Winney is the Education Director for the San Juan School District.
